Cyber Warfare

Having been in the computer industry for some time it frightens me the ease with which the words Cyber Warfare are thrown around. The use of the word "warfare" will make it so much easier when the time comes, for any organisation that has had its computers interfered with, to call it an act of war and respond with violence. Killing a computer system is not by any stretch of the imagination the same as killing people unless it leads to physical deaths.

No sadly the internet will not be the battle ground of the 21st Century but physical robots that can find energy from many sources including human fat may at some point become actors in the wars of the future. Of course war is never limited to a single domain. Read "warfare beyond bounds" 超限战 written in 1999 two colonels in the People's Liberation Army, Qiao Liang (乔良) and Wang Xiangsui (王湘穗).
